Fourth of July

Last night was, of course, Fourth of July. Fireworks whistled into the air and then exploding into a thundering boom. I spent last night out at the Eastside Esplanade near OMSI, enjoying the spectacle.
I wasn’t really up to hauling 25 pounds of camera equipment on my back (including a heavy tripod) while riding my bike to photograph the event. I’ve been working hard lately on other things outside of this website. There comes a time when I need to just put stuff down, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
The above imageĀ is one of the photographs I took with my Nikon Coolpix LII point-and-shoot. The Esplanade is one of the better shooting locations because of the Portland background and twilight. The ride home on the bicycle down the dark and congested Springwater Trail, however, was a hair raiser.

Nice photo. Did I see you riding on Monday up by Skyline? I coulda sworn it was you, but then again.__A friend of mine lives in Milwaukie and was riding the Springwater or perhaps walking it on Monday with his wife. In any case a crack addicted woman of ill repute accosted him for some reason or another. It's in a stretch near 82nd. I don't know of the area but maybe you do. Anyhow I have a Coolpix but on original one – you know, with the self-destructing battery cover so you have to use a rubber band to hold it all together – doh! But I really like the photos it takes .____O.K. later!__

Nope, that wasn't me riding on Skyline on Monday.
I'm familiar with Springwater around SE 82nd Ave, and that wouldn't surprise me. Quite often I find homeless camped out along the trail between SE Johnson Creek Blvd. and SE Luther.
Thanks for the note!
