Afternoon thunderstorms over the Central Oregon Cascades are awesome, only if you can get to them. A thunderstorm tries to develop south of the Three Sisters, as seen from the Dee Wright Observatory at McKenzie Pass (Ore. Hwy. 242) on July 26. The storms to the south and near Bend dissipated as this photograph was taken around 5 p.m. local time.
